MyHealth is part of your care!
Did you receive a text message asking you to respond to a survey about your functional capacity?
We collect information from all patients coming for treatment with a referral, and from some seeking urgent care, about their functional capacity and quality of life before and after treatment. The responses collected before treatment are used in planning your care during the outpatient visit. By examining the responses given after treatment, we gain information on how our patients recover after surgery and the results achieved with the treatment. This allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of our care and improve its quality in the future.
Using the MyHealth service (omavointi.fi), we send surveys to all patients before the outpatient visit and 3 and 12 months after surgery. For joint replacement patients, we send follow-up surveys every 5 years thereafter.
Why did I receive a request to fill out surveys?
For us, the patient is the best expert on their own wellbeing. Therefore, we collect information from all patients coming for treatment with a referral and from some seeking urgent care about their functional capacity and quality of life before and after treatment.
If you have an appointment at Tyks Orto within the next two weeks, or if you have had surgery with us, you will receive a text message when the surveys intended for you are activated in the MyHealth service (omavointi.fi).
What are the surveys like?
The surveys to be filled out are condition-specific symptom questionnaires measuring functional capacity, and general quality of life indicators. The surveys we use have been selected by experts in each field of specialty. The responses are first used to support the planning of your care during the appointment and after treatment to evaluate its effectiveness.
Can I fill out the questionnaire in English?
At the moment, the electronic questionnaires on MyHealth service are only available in Finnish and Swedish. As joint a replacement patient or a back patient you can request paper forms in English.
How are my responses used?

When are surveys sent?

What if I don’t want to respond?
By filling out the surveys, you provide us with valuable information about your condition and functional capacity. However, completing the surveys is voluntary. Not filling out the surveys does not affect your treatment.
How is my information handled?
Omavointi.fi-palvelu on tietoturvallinen palvelu, johon ei tallennu tietojasi. Täyttämäsi tiedot siirtyvät suoraan potilastietojärjestelmään osaksi sairauskertomustasi. Omavointi-kyselyjen rekisterinpitäjä on Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue.
The MyHealth service is a secure service that does not store your information. The information you provide is transferred directly to the patient information system as part of your medical record. The data controller for the MyHealth surveys is the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland.
